GHA maintains close ties with the Independent Schools whose former pupils formed two of the original branches of the club - Hutchesons' Grammar School FPs and Old Aloysians (See Club History). To this day, a large number of the current 1st XV and 2nd XV attended one of these two schools and several maintain rugby coaching roles within their alma mater.

GHA has also forged strong links with surrounding state schools, particularly Williamwood High School who now play their home matches at Braidholm and whose pupils and former pupils are well represented throughout the club.
