Jon Welsh, the former GHA prop now with Glasgow Warriors, has taken another step towards an international cap with an invitation to join Scotland’s Six Nations Championship training squad at St Andrews next week. He made his Scotland A debut in the win against Tonga at Galashiels in November.

A current GHA prop, Josh Low, also is moving up the ladder. The 18-year-old, who has become a regular in the club first XV, was listed earlier this season in the national under-19 squad, but he was promoted to starting tight head last Saturday in the Scotland under-20 team who played against the Club International XV in a warm-up match at Dunbar.

Let’s hope this in an indication that Josh will be in the Scottish squad for the under-20 Six Nations matches over the next two months.
