Dear Members,
With the Giffnock Beer Festival and Premiership season fast approaching, we are calling on our members to help us make it the best summer yet at Braidholm. We have several opportunities for club members and volunteers who are able to give a little bit of their time to our preparations and event days, to ensure we show Braidholm in its best possible light. Whether helping out at this weekend’s Club Clean-up Day, or volunteering your time to help around the Giffnock Beer Festival, we would be nothing without the generosity of our members and would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has offered to help so far.
Details on the upcoming events are below, and regular season volunteering opportunities can be found on the volunteer section of our membership site: https://members.gharugby.co.uk/opportunities
Club Clean-up Day 2025
A reminder that the GHA Board that we will be running their annual Club Clean-up Day at Braidholm this Sunday 10th August starting at 11am. We’d appreciate all members lending a hand as we look to improve our facilities ahead of a busy calendar of events over the next couple of months. We will be hosting a BBQ lunch for our helpers who attend, and all help would be greatly appreciated, even for a short period.
Our House & Grounds team will designate roles on the day, from helping clean and clear the changing rooms, stand and grounds, to painting, decorating and DIY around the clubhouse. Any volunteers who are to bring along strimmers, hedge clippers, small power tools and gardening gloves/tools would be greatly appreciated.
Please email President Gordon Adams via [email protected] to register your availability.
Giffnock Beer Festival 2025
Taking place on Saturday 23rd August, this will be our 9th beer festival event at Braidholm and our biggest revenue earner, accommodating 3,500+ visitors. The club and committee have worked tirelessly to put on a great day for our members and the wider community to enjoy, and we are currently on track for another sell-out event.
The success of this event is however incumbent on volunteers coming forward- with roles in the lead up, on the day and after the event. If you are able to volunteer even a couple of hours of your time to any of the roles detailed below, please email Craig Faulds: [email protected]
Roles include:
Pre-event set up – Thurs 21st and Fri 22nd August, 9am-4pm
Event day set up – Sat 23rd August, 9am-12pm
Ticket scanning/checking – Sat 23rd August 11am-8pm
Token Tent – Sat 23rd August 12pm-8pm
Event facilities management – Sat 23rd August 12pm-8pm
Car park stewarding – Sat 23rd August 10am-8pm

As always, we aim to ensure our volunteers have a chance to enjoy the event, and more volunteers helps spread the workload. We would also like to invite all volunteers to join us back in the clubhouse after the event, to show our appreciation and to celebrate the day.
Thank you for your continued support.
