This Saturday 28th February will see the return of senior rugby after the international break with 3 big fixtures on the cards:

The GHA Lions are back in action for the second stage of the West Region Reserve League Division 2 league at home to Greenock Wanderers 2XV, the 2XV are off to Watsonians with the top spot in their table still in sight, and the 1XV head to Balgray for their rearranged Glasgow Derby against Glasgow Hawks.

The game over at Balgray will be the final game for all teams in the regular 25/26 Premiership season, and already stood as a significant game for the 1XV to round out their Premiership season, but after some big results elsewhere on Saturday 21st February, the 1XV now sit 6th in the table and only 4 points clear of securing a place in 25/26 Premierships play-offs.

A win for the 1XV this Saturday will place them in 4th and secure an away play-off game against Ayr in the coming weeks. With both Glasgow sides having secured their place in the Premiership next season, GHA 1XV will look to build on their home win in the derby earlier in the season and Hawks will head into their final game of the year off the back of a huge win over Watsonian FC at the weekend. It has been some time since the 1XV took on Hawks at Balgray, back in November 2022 where a tough derby game ended in a 19-24 victory to GHA. This is not a game to be missed.

We are calling on all GHA supporters, members, juniors, friends and family to fill the stand at Balgray, wear your GHA colours, bring the noise and cheer on our team in this historic fixture.
