Glasgow Hutchesons’ Aloysians RFC has confirmed a number of new Board appointments following the Club’s AGM at Braidholm on 13 May, alongside the introduction of an updated Board structure designed to support GHA’s continued growth on and off the field.

The appointments come at an exciting time for the Club, following another hugely positive year for GHA across rugby, community engagement and commercial development.

Highlights from the past season included the 1XV retaining its place in the Scottish Premiership for the first time in the Club’s history, continued growth and success across one of Scotland’s largest Minis and Midis sections, and admission to the prestigious SRU Open Conference.

The Club has also continued to make strong progress in facilities, events, commercial partnerships and wider community engagement, as GHA continues its journey towards becoming Scotland’s leading community rugby club; from Minis to the Premiership.

The updated Board structure combines continuity with additional expertise across rugby, finance, marketing, commercial and community leadership, with several existing Directors remaining in position alongside new appointments.

Outgoing President, Gordon Adams, commented:

“It’s been a pleasure to give back to a club that’s given me so much since I was seven years old. It’s been wonderful to see GHA’s growth and thank you to my Board colleagues, members, our army of volunteers, players, coaches, and sponsors for making it happen together. As my tenure ends; an exciting new one begins, and I sincerely wish everyone supports the Board as exciting times lie ahead for GHA.”

New President, Jonathan Kelly, said:

“GHA is in a really positive place both on and off the field, and I’m incredibly proud to take on the role of President at such an exciting time for the Club. There has been a huge amount of hard work carried out over a number of years to strengthen the Club and create the foundations for future success, and we are very grateful to everyone who has contributed to that progress. We have a strong mix of continuity, experience and fresh ideas within the Board, and we are all committed to continuing to move the Club forward together.”

Jonathan first joined the wider GHA family through predecessor Club Hutchesons’ Aloysians in 1990 after leaving St Aloysius’ College, ahead of the merger which formed GHA. He also played for Glasgow Southern when it first launched. Jonathan is currently a Senior Director in Corporate Banking with Santander.

New Managing Director, Adam Gordon, also has longstanding connections to GHA and its predecessor Clubs, having first played with Glasgow Southern after leaving Hutchesons’ Grammar School, before later joining Hutchesons’ Aloysians. Adam is an entrepreneur in the technology sector and continues to play for the GHA Gazelles.

Along with the new President and Managing Director, other new appointments have decades-long connections to GHA and its predecessor Clubs, reflecting the Club’s deep roots within the Clarkston, Hutchesons’ FP and Old Aloysians’ communities.
