GHA will hope to keep their promotion push on track as they take on Dumfries at Braidholm this Saturday. The Southsiders have won their last four league games which has helped them take top spot in the Championship League A table.

They will be eager to maintain their good recent run this weekend against a side who have won their last two league games.

GHA captain Andy Henderson is expecting a tough test.

He said: “They beat us when we played them down there. They are a pretty useful team and
have some big strong forwards and some talented guys in the backs.

“We know it is going to be a tough challenge but it is one we need to overcome.

“We need to keep winning if we are going to win the league so we will definitely be up for it.”

The last time both sides met Dumfries emerged victorious winning 27-26 back in September.

Dumfries have had an indifferent season and currently lie seventh in the league table.

But they showed some form when they defeated GHA’s fellow title challengers Falkirk 10-5 just before Christmas.

GHA captain Andy Henderson feels the team have improved defensively since their last meeting against Dumfries.

He said: “The last time we played them we were disappointed with some of the tries we
conceded.

“They were pretty soft tries so hopefully we have taken that part out of our game.

“Two of their tries were down to our mistakes. Defensively I think we have improved since we played them first time around.

“Hopefully we can show that at the weekend.

“Falkirk are one of the stronger teams in the league. It shows that Dumfries have hit a bit of
form winning against Falkirk.

“We know it is going to be a tough challenge but it is one we are looking forward to.

“We need to win to keep the momentum going for our push forward to win the league.”

Kick Off on Saturday is 2pm
