Harrogate 26 GHA 31

GHA rekindled an old rivalry on Saturday as they travelled to Yorkshire to play English National 2 side Harrogate RFC as part of the opening of their new club house and grounds. The picturesque setting and near perfect conditions made for a highly entertaining afternoon of rugby with GHA scoring 5 scintillating tries, the pick of them all from a quick tap penalty near their own 5 metre line and finished off by skipper for the day Chris Binnie.

Making his senior debut for GHA was 17 year old inside centre Charlie Lonergan who impressed off of the bench, along with new player coach Ben Addison.

GHA try scorers were Rangi Jericevich, Andrew Goudie, Jack Dunn, Ben Addison and Chris Binnie.

GHA suffered a set back late on when Second Row Chris McGeough suffered a badly broken nose which has since required surgery as well as a 3 night stay in Harrogate hospital. We are pleased to say that Chris is doing well and will be returning to Glasgow this afternoon.

GHA conclude their preseason preparations with a home game against Falkirk this Saturday (22nd August), KO 3pm.
