It is with great sadness that GHA reports that Neil MacFarlane, long-time member, and father to senior players Max and Rory MacFarlane, passed away on Wednesday 18th March.
Neil first joined GHA RFC in 2003 and became a Minis’ coach for son Max from Primary 1 and throughout his time in the Minis and Midis. An avid supporter of GHA, Neil was a warm, friendly and smiling face on the touchline, continuing to support both Max and Rory at Braidholm and across Scotland in their senior fixtures.
Everyone at GHA extends their sincerest condolences to Max, Rory, their mum Lindesay and Neil’s friends and family during this very difficult time.
A minute’s silence in Neil’s honour will be held before tomorrow’s 1XV game against Boroughmuir at 3pm.
The funeral will take place at 12 noon at the Hurlet Crematorium on Thursday 2nd April, and will be followed by a reception at GHA Rugby Club, Braidholm Road, Giffnock.
