Today the SRU have outlined their vision for the 2020 / 2021 season which, with approval permitting is due to commence on Saturday 31st October 2020. The regionalised structure is designed to be more robust to potential Covid-19 restrictions; with the ambition of progressing to a national play-off, culminating in a finals day at BT Murrayfield in May 2021.
The regular season is split into two stages, with the first combining the twenty-two Premiership and National One teams into four regionalised pools, playing each other home and away. The winners of each pool will qualify for the end of season play-offs.
