The season proper commences this Saturday; with the 1st XV visiting Poynder Park to play Kelso. The corresponding fixture last season saw GHA snatch a last gasp victory with a try and conversion in the dying seconds. Meanwhile, the 2nd XV are down the road at the Greenyards with a tough opening tie against Melrose. Both Kick Offs are at 3pm.
GHA newcomer, Tim Peyton, a flanker-cum-hooker who is formerly of Glasgow Caledonian University is due to make his competitive debut after a series of impressive performances during pre-season.
The squad is further bolstered by the return of two familiar faces, Rory Watson, GHA’s former captain, and David McKay return after a season out of action.
