Two of GHAs up-and-coming youngsters, Rory Hughes and Adam Barnett, could
well be playing international rugby on their home ground later this season. Both of
them are included in the Scotland squad named for preparation for three under-18
internationals in March and April, and two of those matches will be at Braidholm.
Both Rory and Adam have already worn the thistle jersey, having played for
Scotlands under-17 team in the Wellington College international festival earlier this
year.
Scotlands under-18 international programme starts with a game against Japan at
Braidholm on Sunday 20 March. That is a preliminary for the FIRA/AER under-18
European championship qualifying matches over the subsequent fortnight, including
a return to Braidholm for a game against Ireland on Sunday 3 April. Between those
Braidholm matches the young Scots will take on England at Headingley, Leeds, on
27 March.
