At the end of the league campaign, you don’t expect too much – certainly not a cracker in conditions like this.
There was nothing between the sides in the first half, but after the break GHA stamped their authority, Rory Watson, David Jamieson and Andy Plastow all going over. The score which clinched GHA second spot in the league came after taking scrums instead of penalties and from the third, Watson scampered gleefully over. Noonan forced over Nigel Scullion’s try and Nolan scored in the final minute.
GHA co-coach David Wilson said: “They gave us a hard time until we managed to up the tempo in the second half.”
