Two weeks after their impressive win over Stewarts Melville, GHA will be looking to stay on track and continue their winning streak at Bigger this Saturday as the fight for the much sought-after play-off spot intensifies once again.
The trip to Inverleith saw a triumphant GHA produce a 29-23 win over their promotion spot rivals that placed them firmly back in the race. However, following a weekend off for the Braidholm side due to rescheduling, Stewarts Melville have snuck up behind and closed the gap down to one point as a result of their own bonus point win at Hillhead Jordanhill on Saturday.
The battling sides each have five games left in the season and with the contest becoming so close, GHA will be looking to secure the win as well as a vital bonus point at every opportunity in order to hold on to their chances of promotion.
The last game against Biggar took place back in November at Braidholm and saw a strong start from the visiting side that carried them into the second half with a 12-5 lead before GHA ultimately took the game in to their own hands, producing an impressive 4-try comeback. Since then, it may seem that Biggar, who are currently sitting 11th in the table, have not had as strong a season as GHA but they have shown on numerous occasions that they are not to be underestimated. They will be fighting to keep hold of their own place in the league come next season so this Saturday’s game is bound to be a tight, close run affair.
