GHA XMAS FOOD BANK APPEAL 2020
This weekend, our GHA Seniors will be collecting on behalf of our friends at Glasgow SE Foodbank as part of their Christmas Appeal. We were blown away with the support of our members, associated clubs and GHA community following our collection at the beginning of the season and hope you will be able to support the squad and club once again.
As part of the Trussell Trust Foodbank Network, Glasgow SE has been providing families and individuals with food, legal and support services at their time of need for over 9 years and aims to help anyone who finds themselves at crisis point and without food, maintaining dignity and respect.
It has been a tough year for all and with unemployment, redundancy, and illness at an all-time high, the service is expected to be the busiest yet.
On a weekly basis, the foodbank gives out over 1 tonne of food supplies and offers help, advise and referrals to put people in touch with services that can help them during their time of crisis. In the 3 weeks leading up to Christmas, they will provide over 500 Christmas food parcels.
They have provided a list of much needed items for this Christmas which includes ladies and gents’ toiletries/socks which allow them to also provide anyone visiting the foodbank with a small gift:
- Tinned Ham
- Diluting Juice
- Selection Boxes
- Tinned/Packet Custard
- Tinned/Instant Potato
- Snacks/Nibbles
- Toiletries
We understand that it may not be possible for everyone to donate items at this time. However, if you wish to donate, contactless drop-offs can be made to the Scott Room meeting room from 6-8 Friday 11th, 10-3 Saturday 12th/Sunday 13th and our GHA Senior squad will be on hand to assist.
If you have any questions, please email [email protected].
Thank you.
