GHA produced a solid second-half effort against a jaded Dundee side to give themselves a fighting chance of avoiding the drop whilst finally condemning the Taysiders to Premier 2.
GHA coach Roddy Moir said: “It puts the ball in our court now. We don’t have to rely on anybody else; we just have to win against Stirling County next week.” Dundee coach Ian Rankin was deflated at succumbing to the drop. “We started well, but then we leaked an absolute howler of a score,” he said. “Our confidence beforehand was very good but it’s so thin. When something went against us, you could tell that there was a feeling of ‘here we go again’.”
Jono Wright and Graham Harkness both scored two tries, whilst Ross McClymont’s score earned the bonus point. Stand-off Jim Noonan controlled well, but managed only two conversions.
