An amazing weekend of rugby for GHA’s mini section as the P5 and P6 teams travelled to London to take part in the London Irish Amatuer RFC, who were hosting their 39th International Mini Rugby Festival at their Hazelwood grounds.
This year there were over 1,500 children taking part, making up 160 teams and representing 30 top class rugby clubs.
GHA were the only Scottish team represented at the festival with teams from across the UK, Germany and The Netherlands.
The teams played some excellent rugby with a really positive spirit against Battersea, Grasshoppers, Ealing and Haagsche to name but a few – winning some and losing some.
The festival was as much about creating positive memories with friendships formed both on and off the field with players and their parents. An amazing weekend was had by all and we look forward to hopefully adding to our skill set and attending next year!
Of course, none of the trip would be possible without the support of all the friends, family and members who help the teams raise the funds to attend and the generous sponsorship of both teams.
