GHA continued their pre-season build up with a trip to play Billingham, just outside Middlesbrough.
The trip south was complicated by the team bus being caught up in major traffic on the M6, resulting in a delayed kick off. Following a quick warm up the two sides went head to head in a 4 x 20 minute game. Both teams were missing a raft of regulars due to unavailability and as such played with extended squads.
The long journey badly effected the visitors, with the first 20 dominated by the hosts. GHA grew into the game and showed in patches their potential; pushing a Billingham side continually throughout the game, finishing some excellent moves. Unfortunately the patches were too infrequent and Billingham came away 44-24 winners.
Both sides look forward to a reversed fixture next pre season.
