The club is saddened to announce the death of Stephen Quinn who sadly passed away on the 24th of September 2023.
Stephen, or “Quinny” to his teammates, first started playing rugby at Holyrood Secondary School in Glasgow where he honed his skills in the position of hooker. Quinny along with a bunch of his Holyrood pals joined Clarkston RFC, one of our founder clubs, in 1982. He played two seasons for the U18 team at Braidholm before making the step up to senior rugby in season 1984/5.
During his senior rugby career Stephen successfully held the first fifteen hooker position for several years until work commitments forced him to retire from the game.
Quinny is fondly remembered by all those who knew him at the club, and we send his wife Jacqueline, son Christopher and family our sincerest condolences.
